It is made from the fatty alcohols of coconut oil and glucose from corn, wheat and cassava. It is presented in white granules. It is indicated in O/W emulsions. It creates emulsions with a slight saponity (it is considered a non-ionic surfactant) and forms structures that help improve the hydrolipidic mantle of the skin. It can be used as an emulsifier or co-emulsifier together with other emulsifiers. Depending on the oil/emulsifier ratio, we can create different textures. It has a good moisturizing action.
It is added in the oily phase and worked at temperatures between 60 and 65ºC.
Let's use between 3 and 8%. For a very dense (night or hand cream) and stable cream we use 30% oil phase and 8% M.68. For a lighter cream that we can put in an airless package (face or body cream) we will use 10% oil phase and 5% M.68. For a light texture (cleansing milk) not very stable we will use 10% oil phase and 3% M.68.
